The way we support the community looks a little different at the beginning of 2021 to what it did in January 2020. But our emphasis is the same – giving support to the community in the best way possible, under the current circumstances.
At the moment, we know that many individuals and families are really struggling due to the pandemic. But we are just a simple phone call away for anyone who needs support. We have a multilingual team in place (we speak English, Bangla, Urdu, Hindi or Punjabi), who can help anyone that rings our landline on 0161 368 3268 and leaves a message for us. The messages are being picked up regularly and someone will always call back.
The issues can be almost anything. We can help signpost for anything related to:
- Access to food
- Help picking up medications or sorting prescriptions
- Help with essential shopping
- Advice on benefits
- Struggles with low moods, stress, anxiety, isolation, loneliness or grief
- …or it can simply be because you are unsure of where to get help and support
The leaflet outlining our support offer is attached in English, Urdu and Bangla, and we urge you to share this far and wide to get the messages out there for anyone who needs support.
If you need to talk to one of us direct, you can also visit our website where we list direct phone numbers and email addresses for your convenience. The page can be found here: https://diversitymattersnw.org.uk/contact-us/.
