This is an excepted post under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2022 (Subject to funding) The contract is subject to a 3-month probation period.
Salary: £23,000 p.a. 37.5 hours per week
Tasks: To ensure effective individual and group support for clients and volunteers within a peer support project for women in crisis.
Skills & Experience Needed: Fluency in written and oral English language skills, Fluency in Bangla and/or Urdu. You will be educated to a minimum level 3 or equivalent experience. You will have an understanding of the issues and challenges faced by BAME women around domestic abuse and mental health issues, and be able to support them with their journey to access help via a peer support initiative. You will have experience of managing volunteers and working in partnership with organisations. You will facilitate consultations, meetings, workshops, and deliver training packages. You will have good time management skills You will be IT literate, write reports on a regular basis and be flexible to meet demands in the service which may include weekend and evening working.
