Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2024 (Subject to funding). The contract is subject to a 3-month probation period.
Salary: £22,629 p.a. (pro rata)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Tasks: To adopt an asset based, co-production model to enable, and empower, local Bangladeshi women to come together. To plan and implement a weekly, culturally sensitive, and accessible women’s hub, ran by and for the community. To provide a safe place for women to discuss issues that are important to them, build confidence, develop friendships, gain peer support, and encourage them to plan future intergenerational half term activities.
Skills & Experience Needed: Fluency in written and oral English language skills, Fluency in Bangla. You will be educated to a minimum level 3 or have equivalent experience. You will understand the issues and challenges faced by minority ethnic women arising from the COVID19 pandemic and be able to support them with their journey to access help and support. You will have excellent facilitation skills and have the skills and ability to engage women from the local Bangladeshi community on a regular basis with consultations, planning meetings, workshops and activities. You will have experience of managing volunteers and working in partnership with organisations. You will have good time management skills and be efficient in using IT to communicate and write reports on a regular basis. You will be flexible in meeting the demands of the project and its beneficiaries which may include some weekend and evening working.
